MANASSAS, Va. -- Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative asks area residents to join Operation Turkey by dropping off nonperishable Thanksgiving food at a NOVEC office until Nov. 14. NOVEC HELPS, a group of employee volunteers, will deliver the food to Northern Virginia Family Service. NVFS will distribute the food to qualified low-income residents in Prince William County.

Suggested food items include bread and muffin mixes, instant mashed potatoes, pasta, rice, boxed desserts, sugar, flour, evaporated milk, prepared piecrusts, and canned meats, vegetables, cranberry sauce, pie filling, and gravy.
NVFS will also accept donations by check, made payable to NVFS Operation Turkey, and mailed to 10455 White Granite Drive, Suite 100, Oakton, VA 22124.
